Our Roastery
We Roast our coffee on two 1950s 76kg Whitmee ‘Open flame’ roaster is a legacy of Great British Engineering. The cast iron bodied roaster features a perforated drum with the gas flame apertures in the Centre of the drum rather than underneath it, therefore a truly direct flame.

Roasting coffee is both a science and a craft. While the fundamentals can be learned quickly, mastering the process takes years of experience, precision, and continual refinement. At Tropic Coffee, our roasting expertise has been developed over many years, allowing us to unlock the very best characteristics of every bean.
Using a traditional through-the-flame drum roasting method, heat is transferred evenly throughout the coffee, encouraging a balanced and consistent roast profile. This slower, carefully controlled approach enhances the coffee's natural sweetness, develops greater depth of flavour, and produces a richer aroma.
The result is a coffee with a smooth, full-bodied mouthfeel, exceptional balance, and a clean finish that showcases the unique character of its origin. Every batch is roasted with care to ensure it delivers the quality, consistency, and flavour our customers expect
Packing & Labelling
Within our roastery we have specially designed packaging lines and thermal printers. Many customers choose Tropic branded coffee for our reputation and experience within coffee roasting, however we also create private label coffee for lifestyle brands, restaurants and large wholesalers.
Over 40 Varieties
We have a large range of over 40 coffees available. Amongst our eclectic range are many single origin beans, Tropic blends and rare varieties that are in limited supply. Additionally, we can create bespoke blends and match coffees that you may be serving already.
